Cupcake competition

In March 2009 we asked you to create cupcakes inspired by The Lost Book. We were looking for the perfect cupcake for Aileen’s visit to Copper Beeches Café in episode 3. The prize: the winning cupcake would be featured in the animation.

We have a winner – and it’s acupcakery!

Our judges were Sam and Jemma from London cupcake specialists Crumbs and Doilies. They say: “We love the thought that’s gone into it and the effort that’s gone into making the grass, headstone and hand – a terrifyingly terrific cupcake!”

Congratulations, acupcakery! We’ll be making a virtual cupcake based on your design, and it’ll feature in episode 3 of The Lost Book.

We’ve also chosen a second-placed cupcake: the Christchurch Wizard cake by LittleMissCupcakeParis. Sam and Jemma say: “we love the use of elements of the story that LittleMissCupcakeParis’s used and echoed in the decoration, and we had great fun finding out about the Christchurch Wizard.” So, congratulations LittleMissCupcakeParis! We’re going to try to get both cupcakes into episode 3.
