Thanks for all your brilliant suggestions over the past couple of days. You’ve decided that the secret society of book lovers will be called “Invisible Inc.” – great name! And, you’ve come up with a shortlist of names for our new character, a member of Invisible Inc. Here’s the shortlist – to vote for your favourite, use the sidebar poll!
• Aurelia Libretti – Italian, named after Marcus Aurelius; last name from Latin (liber=book) or from Italian (libretto=booklet, little book); could work in a museum or in a library; fiercely protective of her books but also supports everyone who proves to be a book lover – suggested by Anna.
• Indira Gutenberg – Indira in Sanskrit means bestower of wealth – suggested by Carlissa.
• Lora De Adis – anagram of I read loads – suggested by Happy.
• Lyn/Lynx – Lyn is a good name for an innocent book reader, but is short for Lynx – a solitary character who occassionally hunts in a pack – suggested by Kiwi.
• Mavis – suggested by Su-a.
• Nancy Elyod – suggested by Snaknap.
• Sophia – means ‘wisdom’ in Greek – she probably works in a museum or huge library – suggested by Tom.
• Susie – suggested by Hannah (who reckons Susie might be the book thief).
• Vivlia – Viv for short – vivlio is ‘Book’ in modern Greek – suggested by libertine101.
Thanks also to Grumpy for suggesting Paige Turner.
The poll will stay open until Monday 16th February 2009.
