Who is this?
Aileen’s going to meet someone from a secret society. Here’s the first sketch of our new character. Adam‘s building the 3D computer model of her at the moment. But, who is she? What is her name?
If you can think of the perfect name for a member of a secret society of book lovers, leave a comment now to tell us.

I think a good name for her would be Indira Gutenberg (Indira in Sanskrit means bestower of wealth).
do you know how there is the new person. She could be called susie she could be aileens next door naber. She could a really nice person but she could of stolen the book. And she did not admit that she done it till the end of the story. Like she could say and sand up on somthing and say . Ok i stole the book and here it is look. Then eveyone gos so u are the thief.
She looks like Sarah Palin to me! Who would have known she was a member of a secret book club?
Sarah Palin as a member of a secret book club? God help us all…
On a more serious note, I would suggest Sophia. It means ‘wisdom’ in greek.
And she probably works in a museum or huge library like the British Library or Bibliothèque nationale de France in Paris.
I think Lyn, which would be a good name for an innocent book reader…but then it could be short for Lynx if you need a solitary character who occassionally hunts in a pack (ie joins a secret book society to obtain what they want).
Aurelia Libretti, from Italy, who is named after Marcus Aurelius, the Roman emperor and philosopher. Her last name is from the Latin word liber=book, or from the Italian word libretto=booklet, little book.
And, as Tom said before, she could work in a museum or in a library. To me, she seems to be the kind of librarian who has a stern appearance and is fiercely protective of her books but also supports everyone who proves to be a book lover.
Why not use a name that Ian Fleming may have come up with. Paige Turner.
I know Jasper Fforde has written a Paige Turner – one of Thursday Next’s LiteraTec colleagues in The Eyre Affair. Good name!
I like it alot. But I think perhaps it’s already a bit too, well, “out there”. See http://swansealibraries.blogspot.com/
How about Lora De Adis – anagram of I read loads?
libertine101 over at BookCrossing suggests Vivlia -Viv for short (vivlio is ‘Book’ in modern Greek).
nancy elyod

Hi snaknap – we got the Doyle link, but are being slow and haven’t yet worked out what’s behind “Nancy”…
PS …”Mavis” after Mavis Beacon…who taught me how to touch type…and who my sat nav is named after…
