Aileen Adler

I have good news for you. Watson, under suspicion of being an undercover criminal mastermind, has been cleared. The poll closed with 81% voting that Watson is a loyal friend, not a spydog. Watson’s relieved! Have you taken a look at Follow Your Nose, Watson’s thoughts about chocolate, cupcakes, and clues? Now that we know we can trust Watson, it might be worth taking note of some of his ideas…

A new question for you now. We’ve been assuming that Aileen isn’t the book thief. But what if she is?! Aileen might be the real criminal mastermind. I think we need to know. You can leave your thoughts in the comments, but the important thing is to vote now in the sidebar poll to the right. We’ll leave the poll up all weekend until the end of Monday to gather lots of opinions.

There’s still time to decide whether the bus driver is in on the conspiracy. Vote now! The votes have been counted: the bus driver is innocent.

If Aileen was guilty, wouldn’t she have just taken advantage of the breach in the security system instead of warning the authorities about it?

If we look at Watson’s comments.. then we see a strong theme of dinosaurs. The found bone at the crimescene is most likely from a dinosaur, Aileen has a phone on it with a dinosaur footprint on it and its also on her laptop.
One could almost think that Aileen does have something to do with it, or that someone is trying to set her up? Like with a bugged phone? Or is there this big company that has some link with dinosaurs involved, of which Aileen just happens to have two products? Could this company be behind certain things? Wanting to keep something hidden which is written in that stolen book?
Personally I think Aileen is innocent. But it might be worth looking at that company. Was there not a Grazp Pharmaceuticals with an expedition at about the same time of the expedition described in the stolen journal? What logo do they have? Have they expanded into computers and mobile phones, or are related to other companies that have?
Sorry, just a lot of questions and no answers here… :)

Tom might have the right idea.
Suppose that this large company, which has a dinosaur’s footprint as a logo, is behind the theft: phones, computers, a stolen book (or possibly more) — and all online versions of the latter!
Could it be that this company tries to gain control over what people know … and what they don’t know? If so, they must also be involved in other media: newspapers, TV, the internet, … (Remember, Watson said the dinosaur made a deafening noise!)
I think it’s definitely worth looking at Dino Inc.: What exactly does the company do? Who are its owners? I wonder if the owner (or one of them) bought that Grazp Pharmaceuticals to find a cure for his illness … which could be provided by the “Black Crystal”.

It might also be a good starting question to ask the bibliophiles about dinosaurs and books about the Black Crystal. (They would want to destroy everything about it, wouldn’t they?)

We love these conspiracy theories about the dinosaur footprint logo. We’ll definitely come back to talking about it once we’ve got Aileen’s first steps – to find out more about “K.B.E.” – worked out. If you’ve got any more thoughts, let us know.

Are they dinosaur footprints, or penguin footprints?

I don’t really think a huge organisation with dinosaur footprints would go unnoticed by people if they branded phones and computers and the like. Although, you know how dogs hear sounds humans don’t…maybe Watson is the only one seeing the dinosaur logos and humans are seeing something else..perhaps a piece of fruit on the computer for example, and so Aileen isn’t noticing anything odd.

@Kiwi – why would a logo in the shape of a dinosaur footprint be odd?

I’m not sure that a multinational corporation would want to go unnoticed – they have phones and computers to sell! But, that doesn’t mean that they couldn’t have some activities that they wouldn’t want the public to know about…

7. The Lost Book - Monday, 27 April 2009

We’ve put up a poll to decide whether the dino footprint logo belongs to Grazp Pharmaceuticals. Vote now! And, if you’ve got any different ideas as to who “Dino Inc” might be, let us have your suggestions.
