What will happen to Kyle? Tuesday, 3 February 2009

We need your help to write episode 2 of The Lost Book. First, watch episode 1. And, take a look at Jasper Fforde’s articles: the book that has been stolen is the expedition journal of Sally Challenger.
We’ve been talking about what Aileen might do next. Several of you have pointed out that she needs to check out the crime scene and interview witnesses, including her Mum (thanks M.J. and Kati Clark). But, as Tom says, Aileen’s a suspect so probably won’t be able to get near the crime scene. Anna has the perfect solution – Kyle should deal with this side of the investigation.
But, doesn’t this mean Kyle will get in trouble? He’s already taken key evidence to show to a suspect in a public place. If someone finds out he’s feeding information to Aileen he could be in hot water.
What do you think will happen? Will Kyle manage to keep his work for Aileen secret? Or, will there be suspicion that causes him to be suspended? Or fired? Or arrested?! You can leave comments here, but it’s important to cast your vote in the sidebar poll to the right. We need to decide Kyle’s fate together!
There’s also still time to decide whether Kyle has a chance with Aileen. At the moment 47% think that Aileen has a secret soft spot for him. What do you think? The poll’s over in the sidebar on the right. You’ve spoken: Aileen definitely has a secret liking for Kyle.
We’ll get back to Aileen – who needs to find out more about the stolen book (thanks Pomme and Nadia) – once we know what will be happening to Kyle. You’ve got his destiny in your hands!

I think Kyle is a smart guy, else Aileen would never have a soft spot for him. ;)
There are more ways to pass on information without leaving a trace. He could make pictures and send them to Aileen, or a copy of the official report. If he has the clearance to get the evidence with him, he should not have too much trouble getting the report either. It might take a while before the right opportunity shows though.
Or maybe he does work for the cops and the initial showing of evidence was a way to check Aileen’s reaction to see if she was involved? A psychological test, so to speak? With Kyle believing Aileen to not have done it, of course.
How about this? If Kyle’s really clever, he could make sure there isn’t enough evidence against him to get fired. But, it might suit him to be suspended, so that he’s free to go with Aileen on her journey to investigate. His bosses would need to have suspicions but no proof…
Aillee should go and investigate the libary then see her mum she may know something and Kyle may no something.
the dog might be a spydog undercover for his master.
Aileen might be murdered by the bus driver.
